Abstract
Gloucestershire Royal Hospital (GRH) is a 683-bed acute DGH. The OMFS unit is led by five-consultants, managing head and neck oncology, trauma/deformity and dento-alveolar surgery. The department receives referrals from the county's two Emergency Departments (ED). Due to staff shortages and the resultant suspension of overnight DCT cover from September 2023, the unit has introduced a daily morning HOT Clinic to manage overnight non-urgent referrals, staffed by middle grades and DCTs.
