Abstract
CBCT can provide information to aid surgical planning, risk stratification of nerve injury, informed consent, and type of surgery (coronectomy or complete excision) in preparation for third molar surgery. The Royal College of surgeons has recommended the CBCT may be of use when “a close relationship between the third molar and the inferior dental canal” is identified on plain films.
