EP048 To apicect or not to apicect; Can we still justify this procedure?

Abstract
Endodontic microsurgery (EMS) outcomes have reported increased tooth survival rates compared with traditional root-end surgery (TRS). Many NHS oral and maxillofacial clinicians do not have access to the magnification or instruments required of EMS, but local referral pathways often negate an alternative. In acknowledgement of our financially constrained climate we analysed the outcomes of consecutive apical surgery provided in a district general hospital to inform if we continue to justify the provision of this treatment.
